This streamer is trying to break the world record for no sleep.

Everyone wants to set a world record someday, but are some records worth trying to beat? For the YouTuber, Norme, beating the world record for no sleep has become his mission, and he is doing it live on his stream.

But is such a challenge actually worth attempting to complete?

Norme, a YouTube streamer, attempts to beat world record for no sleep

The streamer has currently been live on his YouTube channel for over 12 days straight now without a single second of sleep. Norme has currently been awake for 239 hours at the time of writing this article.

As of now, the current world record for no sleep was set in 1986 by Robert Mcdonald, who stayed away for 19 days (453 hours and 40 minutes). Norme is barely past halfway to that mark.

Norme has continued to keep himself live by talking to chat, drinking caffeinated beverages, playing video games and has had the help of friends who have made sure to keep him awake so he can beat the world record.

Throughout his livestream, his friends have kept him awake by holding him up when he loses his balance and talking to him throughout the stream. Different friends have been taking different shifts.

Some of the people helping him in his stream have even expressed how worried they are about him, due to the dangers that this long with no sleep poses to the human body. In fact, Norme has been delirious throughout most of the stream, making little sense when trying to talk.

Is attempting the world record for no sleep safe?

No, absolutely not. Your body requires sleep. Even going one entire night without any sleep is considered terrible for us. While someone may have been able to stay awake for 19 days once, it does not mean that any other human should attempt it.

What Norme is doing is extremely dangerous and could potentially be life-threatening. Hopefully, the streamer decides to quit before it is too late.
