Virtual YouTuber and Twitch streamer ironmouse is crowned most-subbed woman streamer of all time, breaking kkatamina’s past record.

In the second week of her subathon, VTuber streamer ironmouse achieved a record-breaking amount of subscribers. The success of ironmouse's subathon has exceeded kkatamina's past records and made her the most-subbed woman streamer of all time on the Twitch platform.

Ironmouse breaks Twitch record

Amidst her subathon, ironmouse surpasses kkatamina’s record for most subscribers. While kkatamina had 73 thousand subscribers at the time, ironmouse broke the record with 75 thousand subscribers, just minutes after reaching a personal milestone of hers to get 1 million followers.

Days-long subathon

On February 4th, ironmouse announces the start of her subathon in a tweet, saying that she ‘doesn’t know if she’s making a mistake ’.

A subathon, a word combination of subscriber and marathon, is an event where a streamer will add time to a stream’s duration with every subscription, donation or any other form of support. In ironmouse’s subathon, one subscription, 500 bits and a 5 dollar donation will add 15 seconds to the timer. The subathon is still going on to this day.

While a subathon does help streamer to grow their numbers, it's no secret that it is a very tiring event. Streamers have to constantly entertain their viewers for as long as the timer runs on, often having to sleep mid-stream.

She used to have a restricted streaming time due to her Common variable immunodeficiency (CVID), a disorder that impairs the immune system. Heavily affected by it, she is unable to have regular human contact and mostly remains indoors. Her chronic illness was one of the things that led her to be a streamer, after it prevented her from continuing her studies in a performance arts high school.
