Valkyrae revealed her Minecraft movie cameo was cut, fueling fans’ speculation over her comments on Jason Momoa’s alleged crew mistreatment.

A clip of Rachell “Valkyrae” Hofstetter talking about Jason Mamoa's alleged mistreatment last year resurfaced a few days after A Minecraft Movie came out in theaters. After it started trending again, Valkyrae commented on this issue on stream and how her cameo was cut.

Jason Momoa allegedly mistreated crew members on set

Back in September 2024, Valkyrae commented about her 30-second cameo in the Minecraft Movie that she recorded in New Zealand. "I saw him [Jason Momoa] mistreat some of the crew, and it was pretty disappointing." she explained. "It was after a very intense scene, and it was a very emotional scene, so maybe he was still in character, I don't know, but I was kinda surprised how he treated some of the crew."

In the stream, she proceeded by saying he was "really mad with the crew" because they were not doing "something right." According to the Twitch streamer, it was during the setup of a scene and Jason Momoa was angry, "really mad," and yelling at people. She revealed she thought about it as a "not a good work environment" and that she would not be happy working "under those conditions."

Back then, this clip brought a lot of attention. Some people even called out influencers for "not knowing what a real job is" and how "stressful" a working environment is. The YouTuber Jay Swingler was one of those criticizing Valkyrae for her statement. He mentioned "she wouldn’t last a day in a world where she had to undergo tough challenges and stressful situations on a regular basis."

Valkyrae preferred "not to be sued" for a 30-second cameo in the Minecraft movie

A Minecraft Movie came out in theaters worldwide on April 4, earning $157 million in its domestic opening weekend — the biggest ever for a video game movie. With an original budget of $150 million, the film drew large crowds to theaters. After an old clip resurfaced, Valkyrae addressed the situation during a livestream.

She started by saying she was not going to "touch much on it." Valkyrae explained that, like other creators who appeared, she would also have a cameo of 30 seconds in the movie. "I would much rather not have 30 seconds than be sued," she said. This could mean that, after the other clip became a trend, to avoid legal repercussions, she had her cameo cut.

According to the Twitch streamer, it was "all good" for her. She remembered it as a great experience of 10 days in New Zealand. She also added that "things could have been much worse" and explained that none of it was "Minecraft's fault." This suggests her removal was not forced by the movie production team. Some fans have been speculating about a possible Jason Momoa interference after the clip about the alleged mistreatment became popular online.

"The movie did not s*ck, it was good!"

After many people told her the movie was not good, Valkyrae laughed. The streamer guaranteed the movie was good and had many cool Easter eggs. She kept calling her chat for "trolling to make her feel better" and described it as a "cute Minecraft movie."
