Twitch is now officially counting raids towards Partnership status.

In recent (and huge) Twitch news, the popular live streaming platform is now counting raids towards Partner status. This comes as a massive win for the Twitch-streaming community, as many have been begging for raids to count towards Partner status numbers for years now.

Twitch employee confirms raids now count towards Partner status

The news first broke when a member of Twitch's Global Partner Operations Team replied to a streamer who was telling people raids to count towards the 75 average viewers needed to apply for Partner.

"We actually include raids now," said Angela, known as itswoori on Twitter. Angela is also a part of the Twitch Global Partner Operations Team. "We don't want to punish the idea of networking and community."

With this recent news, many streamers have been celebrating on the internet. Raids have always been such a big aspect when it comes to growing on Twitch. With them now counting towards Partner status, many streamers will be utilizing their platforms to help others (hopefully).

Streamers celebrate the recent Twitch raid news

Many popular creators took to Twitter earlier today (October 1, 2024) to celebrate the news revolving around Twitch raids counting towards Partner status.

"Raid viewership now counts towards getting partnered on Twitch," celebrated Chica, the popular Fortnite streamer, on Twitter. "Comment your Twitch channel below if you are trying to catch a raid!"

This support from larger creators is exactly what has been needed within the streaming community. Many, however, seem to never raid smaller streamers, possibly due to the fact that their raid would not actually help partner the smaller creator.

Now, though, streamers can celebrate incoming raids in hopes that it pushes them to get that purple checkmark on Twitch.
