The scale of production in MrBeast's recent video is not exactly new, but it does showcase something unique. The YouTuber has not been shy to flaunt the absurd amount of money he tosses in every video. Most of his content includes paying a large sum of cash to random people for completing games or challenges.

But his recent video, titled "1,000 Blind People See For The First Time" became the talk of internet overnight - likely due to its inspirational and emotional story. The 8-minute-long video accumulated rapid views, reaching 50 million in less than two days. In comparison, his other videos generally reach the same number of views in about half a month.

“I did not expect the video to do this well,” MrBeast posted on Twitter.

The video sparks questions regarding the healthcare system

A lot of people are baffled to discover the simplicity of curing blindness, a common global problem experienced by billions of people. A 10-minute procedure is all it takes to get rid of this life-long deficiency but the issue of access and affordability comes to light.

"I don’t understand why curable blindness is a thing. Why don’t governments step in and help? Even if you’re thinking purely from a financial standpoint it’s hard to see how they don’t roi on taxes from people being able to work again," MrBeast stated.

One of the biggest political streamers, hasanabi, reacted to MrBeast curing blindness and explained why he felt rage. "I watch this video and I'm filled with rage. We shut off access to a 10-minute procedure because we paywall-ed it and decided that some people just simply can't get it."

He then took to Twitter to shade the state of healthcare in the US. "Plenty of capitalist nations have decided that healthcare shouldn’t be paywalled. Unfortunately, the wealthiest nation on earth ain’t one of them," said hasanabi.

The community reacted similarly to the video with healthcare becoming the main focus of the issue. Twitch streamer, neekolul also commented: "Hopefully this starts a long-needed conversation and maybe a shift in people that might be against affordable healthcare."
