Kai and Speed take on Hardcore Minecraft

After the success of their Chained Together stream, the duo has returned for another collaboration stream. Kai and IShowSpeed are taking on Hardcore Minecraft. Just like their insanely popular Chained Together stream, Kai and Speed aren't leaving until they beat the game. Or in other words, the two won't get to leave until the Ender Dragon is defeated.

The true difficulty of Kai Cenat and IShowSpeed's challenge comes from Minecraft's hardcore mode. This difficulty setting is the most challenging of Minecraft's difficulties for a couple of reasons. Perhaps the most well known of these is its permadeath mechanic. This means if a player dies in the game, they are not allowed to respawn. In addition to that, the mode uses Hard difficulty which bumps up the challenge in a number of ways. Here are some of the changes Hard difficulty brings to Minecraft:

  • Hostile mobs deal 1.5 times more damage
  • Players can die from starvation
  • Zombies can call for reinforcements and break wood doors
  • Spiders can spawn with near permanent potion effects (speed, strength, regeneration, invisibility)
  • Pillagers spawn more frequently

So suffice it to say that the duo has their work cut out for them. To beat Minecraft Kai and Speed have a lot to accomplish. They'll need to traverse the Nether to acquire Blaze Rods, delve deep into caves for ores, claim Ender Pearls and of course find the Stronghold to then take down the Ender Dragon. However, there was no mention of fighting the Wither, so luckily Kai and Speed don't need to stockpile buckets of milk. You can catch the stream on either Kai's Twitch channel or Speed's YouTube channel.
