Sources with knowledge of the situation have spoken for the first time.

Twitch banned Dr Disrespect, the persona created by Guy Beahm, in 2020 for allegedly sexting with a minor via the platform's direct chat system Whispers.

This information has been circulating since Friday, June 21 when a former Twitch employee exposed the situation without naming Beahm. It was just rumors until Tuesday, June 25 when Bloomberg's reporter Cecilia D'Anastasio, got access to sources with knowledge of the situation and published a report.

According to Bloomberg's report, three people with knowledge of the matter said Twitch banned Beahm because he allegedly exchanged "sexually explicit messages" with a minor.

Beahm allegedly used Twitch's direct chat feature Whispers to talk with the minor and asked about her plans at the TwitchCon convention that year, according to two of these anonymous sources. These two sources also said Twitch got a formal complaint through its reporting system back in the day.

What did Dr Disrespect comment after this Twitch scandal became public?

"Listen, I’m obviously tied to legal obligations from the settlement with Twitch, but I just need to say what I can say since this is the fucking internet," Beahm said on June 22 after the story made the headlines. "I didn’t do anything wrong, all this has been probed and settled, nothing illegal, no wrongdoing was found, and I was paid."

The streamer went on to stream the Elden Ring DLC Shadow of the Erdtree on June 24 like nothing happened over the weekend, but after looking at his cellphone for a while, he said he'd take a break from streaming.

"I'll be honest I'm feeling a little fatigue. Feeling a little burnt out. When shit like this happens over the weekend and I'm actually tired of being on social media and I have expressed that over the years Champs. I've always kind of hinted it'll be nice to get off and just completely separate, right? Go live in Costa Rica or something."

Shortly after, the studio co-founded by Beahm Midnight Society parted ways with him on June 24. And by the looks of it, it seems Beahm's career in entertainment might be over as brands will refuse to sponsor him. Gaming company Turtle Beach removed all of Beahm's merchandise from its website on June 25 but has yet to make an official statement.

Since the Twitch ban, Beahm moved to YouTube Gaming and his channel is still up after all the recent allegations and the Bloomberg report. It's unclear if the Google-owned company is considering parting ways with Beahm at this time.

Beahm hasn't commented anything since the Bloomberg report went live. However, he'll likely have to if his sponsors keep dropping him.
