Popular Fortnite streamer, Clix, was swatted while live streaming at a mall.

It is a crazy world we live in. Popular Fortnite and lifestyle streamer, Clix, decided to take his chat with him to a mall today, live streaming in front of thousands of viewers. What started as a fun IRL Twitch stream, turned into a nightmare after the streamer was swatted, which shut down the entire mall, keeping everyone stuck inside.

Clix swatted while streaming to thousands of viewers at a mall

This is not the first time swatting has created a huge issue for streamers. Many other big creators have had their addresses leaked and then swatted when trying to just play video games on Twitch or YouTube.

What is swatting? Swatting is when someone calls a fake threat to the police while giving them an innocent person's address. In one instance, a man was fatally shot because of a swatting mishap. It's dangerous and stupid.

Clix's situation, however, was even more extreme than normal, as it put hundreds of people at risk, too.

The creator was live streaming when a police force had to rush the mall he was in, closing off all the exits and making everyone stay where they were as they searched the premises for any threats. We can only imagine the fear many of these bystanders had.

Clix had quite a few strong words to say about the incident, too, letting people know that this is absolutely not okay and a terrible joke.

"Nobody can get out," said Clix when talking to his live stream about the incident. "Girls are f**king screaming and crying. I am in disbelief right now. I am in so much f**king shock."

The perpetrator who initiated the swatting called in an active shooter threat to the mall that Clix was livestreaming at. In a country that already has so many mass shootings, who would ever think such a prank would be funny?

"They literally think it's f**king me," said Clix. "I actually am going to lose my f**king mind."

What makes the situation even more dangerous, is the fact that Clix could have been in serious danger if the police investigating thought he had a weapon on him. They were already searching the place heavily armed.

Clix even made a comment on Twitter: "Wow man. What a f**king disgusting world we live in. Done with this IRL stream sh*t."

Wanting to not stream IRL anymore is a valid response from Clix, as anyone in his situation would be absolutely terrified. Luckily, it seems as if no one was hurt.

Swatting is a federal offense and could result in prison time. It is not funny or worth it!
