Bernie Sanders is going live on Twitch with streamers Pokimane and Valkyrae. Here’s what we know so far.

Popular political figure Bernie Sanders is set to go live on Twitch tonight, October 22, 2024, with streamers Imane "Pokimane" Anys and Rachell "Valkyrae" Marie Hofstetter. The news first broke earlier today on The Washington Post. Here is everything we know about the Twitch stream.

Bernies Sanders to join Pokimane and Valkyrae on Twitch in support of Harris/Walz campaign

The left-winged political figure will be joining the two celebrity streamers on Twitch later today in hopes of reaching more undecided voters ahead of the 2024 U.S. presidential election.

Sanders is no stranger to Twitch. He has been on the platform since 2019, where he has gone live various times to stream different announcements and events.

The stream is set to begin at 4:30 p.m. PT, where Sanders will sit and ask questions from streamers and their audiences.

“The extreme right has made a successful effort to insert itself into online spaces and non-traditional forms of communication. We cannot cede that space,” Sanders said. “If the Democratic Party wants to hold onto the support of young Americans, it must address the issue of concern to them.”

Sander's hope is that this stream will reach many of the younger voters who may be undecided on who to choose in the upcoming election.

What issues will they be discussing?

While we are unsure just exactly what the entire stream will hold, we do know that Sanders would like to address the following issues with young voters: Minimum wage, rent-control protections, universal health care, affordable higher education, climate change solutions, women’s rights, and anti-bigotry policies.

With a combined following of over 21 million followers on social media, both Pokimane and Valkyrae are looking to dedicate their platforms to spreading awareness in hopes of gaining more votes for the Harris/Walz campaign.

This is not the first streaming campaign done by a presidential candidate. Donald Trump went live on Adin Ross's Kick stream just last month.

The Harris/Walz campaign has also taken out ads on IGN and other gaming websites, showing that both parties are dedicated to swaying the younger voters.
