When will Stellar Blade be on PC?

The recent announcement of the Stellar Blade x NieR: Automata DLC has definitely got PC gamers interested, but will Stellar Blade be on PC? We've got good news and bad news.

The action-adventure title Stellar Blade for the PlayStation 5 released in April 2024, and has since sold over 1 million copies. Although initially developers said it would be a PS5 exclusive, they later changed their tune.

The PC version of Stellar Blade is set to be released in 2025. Shift Up shared the news in the Q/A of their Q3 Financial Report that they were "aiming for a 2025 release" on Steam & Epic Games.

In the same report Shift Up confirmed sales of 1 million copies in just 2 months. "We believe Stellar Blade has establish itself as a global large-scale franchise IP," said Shift Up. The developer added in the financial report that they were releasing content patches and updates on console to "increase IP value and maintain enthusiasm".

On November 11, the developers announced a huge November 20 update that would introduce Photo Mode, new outfits and a NieR: Automata Stellar Blade DLC. However, news of a PC version release date was notably absent.

The game was originally called Project EVE and was slated for a PS4 release. Sony became involved in development of the title after being impressed by Shift Up's playable prototype in 2021. The game was then renamed from Project EVE to Stellar Blade.

According to Stellar Blade's Game Director Hyung-Tae Kim in an interview with Pushsquare, it was thanks to Sony's help that Shift Up completed the game. This was the driving force behind the action adventure game being a PS5 exclusive initially. Thankfully, we can look forward to Stellar Blade coming to PC sometime in 2025.

As of yet there have been no mentions of Stellar Blade coming to any other platform apart from PC and PlayStation 5.
