Spectre Divide unlocks Ranked mode in its Closed Beta

Spectre Divide’s Closed Beta is adding a mode everyone has been waiting for, with Ranked arriving on August 19.

The Spectre Divide Closed Beta is live, showcasing what Mountaintop Studios and shroud have put together. We've only had a look at the game's Casual mode thus far, though. Now, that all changes as Ranked mode comes to the Spectre Divide Closed Beta.

With its similarities to Counter-Strike and VALORANT, it makes sense that players will get to try out the game in a ranked capacity. Casual and competitive communities can intertwine, but for many games, they are often very different beasts.

So, let's dive into the tease and eventual announcement of the mode arriving in the beta period.

Spectre Divide teased the mode hours before the announcement

Just after 9 a.m. PT on August 16, the Spectre Divide X account sent out a post. It showed an image of the locked Ranked mode in its Closed Beta, with a bit of a tease that they'd be unlocking it.

This was followed by a reply from the Mountaintop Studios X account. They responded with two emojis, signaling a handing over of the keys. Later on in the day, the keys were used to unlock the Spectre Divide Closed Beta Ranked mode, but not right away.

When does Ranked mode come to the Spectre Divide Closed Beta?

So, when exactly does Ranked launch in the Spectre Divide Closed Beta? The announcement of the mode's unlocking say it arrives on August 19 at 12 p.m. PT. Then it lasts throughout the remainder of the test.
