NRG’s Rocket League team will now be called The General NRG. The players will wear new jerseys as part of the first-ever naming rights for a Rocket League team in North America.
The General Insurance has announced a landmark partnership with NRG and the naming rights to NRG’s Rocket League team. The team’s new name is “The General Insurance NRG” and each team player will wear specialized The General-branded NRG jerseys for all events. This is the first naming rights agreement in North American Rocket League history.
‘The General Insurance NRG’ Rocket League team
Rocket League fans will soon be able to see the NRG players don new jerseys. The new The General NRG-branded jerseys will highlight the new partnership between NRG and The General. NRG’s Rocket League team recently won the Rocket League Championship Series Season X 2nd Major tournament.
The announcement highlights the role Shaquille O'Neal played in this new partnership. Shaquille is a part-owner of NRG and has also been a long-time brand ambassador of the insurance provider.

The Grid Presented by The General
As a part of this agreement, The General will now be the sponsor of NRG’s The Grid broadcast. The Grid is a weekly stream for Rocket League organizations to create content around their teams during the RLCS.
The naming rights and The General NRG jerseys will first be visible during The General NRG's next competitive event: Rocket League Championship Series Season X North America Major of the Spring Split. The parties will also continue to develop and roll out fan-focused activations through the remainder of Rocket League Championship Season X and into Season XI.
