A new decal turns your Rocket League car into an epic spaceship. For May the 4th and beyond: the game shop has some interesting offers. However, not all players are happy.
The cosmic Force is coming to Rocket League for Star Wars Day. Can players control the ball with just mind power? Star Wars Day is going to be epic in the soccer game! To celebrate May the 4th, Rocket League is introducing special decals inspired by the massive spaceships from the legendary saga.
The celebration happens right in the middle of the Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) 2025 qualifiers. Maybe some pro players will get inspired and decide to drive a Star Wars Rocket League Car during the Split 2 tournaments — or maybe even at the Raleigh Major.
The Star Wars decal in Rocket League
We got a glimpse of the new Star Wars decal via an official teaser. Rocket League shared an image of the arriving on May 4.
Usually, special decals come as a bundle with other cosmetic items like wheels, alternative colors, toppers, and more. The details of this Star Wars event should be revealed shortly.
In 2024, Rocket League had Anakin's Podracer and Darth Maul decals. A Star Wars event hit the game back in 2023 as well.
TMNT and Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 in Rocket League
The game features an endless circle of special events. Up to May 1, the Rocket League shop offers collaboration items with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: the Turtle Van, four different decals, and wheels.
Another bundle is available in the shop alongside the Star Wars items. It’s a great auto: Ford Mustang Shelby GT500. It comes with three decals and a set of wheels.

Why is the community’s reaction not very positive?
While many players express their joy of seeing awesome new decals and cosmetics in the game, a big part of the community openly expresses disappointment. Why?
Here are the main complaints you can find in the reaction to any new collaboration event.
- The Rocket League developers are focused on cosmetics more than on new features.
- The technical state of the game could be better.
- The price is too high (2,500 Credits for the Ford Mustang and TMNT bundles).
It is hard to argue about the price tags. Everyone has their own criteria, and Psyonix and Epic Games have their own reasons. No one forces us to buy each and every decal, but focusing on the best specifically for you could be a solution: like getting Adventure Time items in Rocket League and Fortnite but then ignoring the ninja turtles.
The technical state is a very common complaint. At the start of Season 18, some items from the Rocket Pass did not load — it’s just a small example. Players talk about DDoS attacks that make the matches unplayable. The issues depend on the region and the time you launch the game.
New features were introduced in Rocket League recently, but they are rather small. We’ve got an online version of the Free Play Mode. Season 18 brought us new Mutators. Many people would like to see more.
Meanwhile, the pro community is more focused on their results in the game. These players also have amazing decals: you can see some of them at the RLCS 2025 NA Open 4 event.
