RLCS Winter Invitational format
Unlike the first two Winter qualifiers, the Winter Invitational does not have an open qualifier. This means that all sixteen teams competing in their regional qualifier will be chosen from the top overall RLCS Ranking.
The format for the Winter Invitational will be the same as other qualifiers in the Winter season. Each region will have its own Winter Invitational where the best sixteen teams in the region are sent into the arena. The dates for each region's Winter Invitational are:
- SSA: 24-26 February
- EU: 24-26 February
- SAM: 24-26 February
- APAC: 25-26 February
- MENA: 2-4 March
- NA: 3-5 March
- OCE: 3-5 March
This Winter Split will see a Round Robin Group Stage with four groups of four teams. All matches will be best-of-five (Bo5). The winners of each group from the Group Stage will receive a bye into the quarterfinals in the playoffs. Meanwhile, the second and third place from each group will qualify for Round 1 of the playoffs. The fourth place of each group will, unfortunately, be eliminated.
The playoffs will be a single elimination bracket. Twelve teams will have to survive the battlefield, with Bo5 matches in the first round and best-of-seven (Bo7) matches for the rest of the playoffs.
