This tournament features tough battles for remaining spots at the Rocket League esports Birmingham Major. Who can join NRG?

As an esports region, North America has four slots at the upcoming offline tournament Rocket League Birmingham Major 2025. One goes for NRG, which is currently the best NA team — signing the former G2 Stride roster was such a good idea.

The Rocket League Championship Series 2025 (RLCS 2025) open qualifiers in North America should determine three other Major participants. In addition to this, it’s a chance to witness the general power of the NA region. Can the teams beyond just NRG be a real threat on the international scene?

Where to watch RLCS 2025 NA Open 3?

The official Rocket League Esports channel on YouTube broadcasted the final Playoff matches. Also, you can watch RLCS 2025 NA Open 3 right here, as the stream of the final matches is embedded below.

Final standings at RLCS 2025 NA Open 3. Who qualified for the Birmingham Major?

The gap between the first team on the leaderboard and the rest of the qualification contenders is pretty big — at least before RLCS 2025 NA Open 3.

Spacestation Gaming started RLCS 2025 super promisingly. They even defeated NRG in the Group Stage of Open 1 and finished that qualifier second. But then, the team could not make it even through the Swiss Stage of Open 2. This inconsistency is rather disturbing.

The Ultimates shaked between finishing 2nd and 5th-6th. The same goes for 9Lives, but they went from a better performance to slightly worse. Complexity Gaming couldn’t jump higher than 3rd-4th: NRG stopped them on the last tournament stages.

RLCS 2025 NA Open 3 is another challenge for the top NA Rocket League esports teams. It’s the last one before going to LAN and facing international monsters, such as Karmine Corp, Team Vitality, Falcons, and FURIA.

In the table below, you’ll find all teams qualified for the Group stage, their final standings at RLCS 2025 NA Open 3, and total RLCS points earned in Split 1. The four teams that advance to the Rocket League Birmingham Major from North America are NRG Esports, The Ultimates, Gen.G Mobil1 Racing, and Complexity Gaming.

Group stage results: RLCS 2025 Open 3 in North America

There are two groups at this stage of RLCS 2025 Open 3. Eight teams in each, and only four can advance to the Playoffs.

All the participants have a second chance. One loss is just dropping to the lower brackets. After that, a lost match means elimination. No one wants to experience that in the final qualification for the RLCS 2025 Birmingham Major, especially the top teams on the NA leaderboard.

Group A

Deleted Gaming and Omelette are pretty strong Rocket League esports teams. Both got eliminated from RLCS 2025 NA Open 3 at the Group stage. Their potential chance to reach the Major 1 evaporated.

Pirates on a Boat qualified for the Playoffs. However, the team did not face such strong opponents as Gen.G. Pirates lost in the grand final to Complexity.

Group B

There is no big surprise to see Rocket League NRG Esports qualifying to the RLCS 2025 Open 3 NA via the winners brackets. The team had a close match against 9Lives, but then these opponents got suddenly destroyed by Strictly Business.

Beyond that, some really strong North American Rocket League teams were in Group B. They continue battling for the Birmingham Major qualification: Spacestation Gaming and The Ultimates.

Playoffs results: RLCS 2025 North America Open 3

The final battles take place during this tournament stage. The reward is RLCS points and potentially the Major 1 qualification. Considering how close the top Rocket League teams are in the North America Split 1 leaderboard, every Playoff match matters a lot.

Take a look at the matchups and results of RLCS 2025 NA Open 3.

Similarly to the EU Open 3, the best team of the region could not win the Rocket League qualifier in NA. NRG Esports lost to The Ultimates in the semi-final.

The biggest winner of this tournament is Gen.G Mobil 1 Racing. They entered the top 8 part via the lower brackets. Then, Gen.G defeated some super strong opponents: Complexity Gaming and The Ultimates. Thanks to this victory, Gen.G qualified for the RLCS 2025 Major 1.

Spacestation Gaming couldn't compensate for their fail in Open 2. The team was 2nd at Open 1, but they are out of the Major.

The gap in the RLCS 2025 competitive schedule is very short. The Birmingham Major happens from March 27 to March 30. For all Rocket League news and updates, stick around on esports.gg!
