They won RLCS 2025 regional qualifiers to battle at the soon-coming Birmingham Major.

The traditional format of Rocket League esports is 3v3 matches. Success here comes with a combination of individual skills and team actions. What if one of these components is out, and everything is about the abilities of one player? That’s exactly what happens in 1v1 tournaments!

Solo Rocket League matches are available in the game as a separate game mode. In the RLCS 2025, 1v1 competition was promoted to the level of official esports — even if only with a limited Championship presence.

The first 1v1 qualifiers of RLCS 2025 happened in three regions: Europe, South America, and Asia-Pacific. Two regional winners advance to the offline RLCS 2025 1v1 Major event in Birmingham, UK.

Mawkzy, the 1v1 Champion in Europe

The number of registered people at the RLCS 2025 Europe 1v1 Open qualifier is mind-blowing: 4,195 players. Making it through these brackets is quite an achievement.

Everything ended up with 16 players in the Group stage and 8 players in the Playoffs. In the final brackets, we could see some of the best EU Rocket League esports competitors.

  • dralii — The World Champion 2024, who is playing for Karmine Corp in the RLCS 2025 season.
  • Atow. — He is another guy from Karmine Corp, and the team currently has the best Rocket League roster in Europe.
  • Nass — The player represents Ninjas in Pyjamas.
  • ApparentlyJack — After being part of Gen.G, ApparentlyJack is in Dignitas now, and the team also qualified for the Birmingham Major.

Seeing Mawkzy advancing through such packed brackets and winning the grand final against dralii is very, very impressive. The guy does not represent an esports organization. Mawkzy is a Rocket League content creator, and he managed to beat the best competitors in one of the strongest major regions. This is inspiring!

yanxnz: FURIA on top in South America, every dimension

This RLCS 2025 1v1 qualifier for the Birmingham Major was pretty much a reflection of the 3v3 series. The two best SA Rocket League teams battled to play at the Major 1 3v3 tournament. Then, their representatives competed in the 1v1 dimensions.

  • Team Secret — For just a bare number of players in the top 4, Secret certainly wins. All three guys from the main team are here: swiftt, kv1, and Motta.
  • FURIA Esports — While being in places 4, 3 , and 2 is certainly an achievement, only winning the tournament really matters. One player from FURIA Esports managed to be in the top 12, yanxnz. But the guy is #1, and he qualifies for the RLCS 2025 1v1 Major!

Mawkzy vs yanxnz: RLCS 2025 1v1 Birmingham Major

Following the RLCS 2025 1v1 competitive format, the top 1 players from Europe and South America have a final at the Rocket League Major 1 — in Birmingham.

  • Mawkzy vs yanxnz is a best-of-seven (Bo7) match. It happens on March 30, the Championship Sunday of the RLCS 2025 Major 1.

The winner earns $15,000 and qualifies for the RLCS 2025 World Championship. The loser gets $5,000.

The third 1v1 tournament happened in the Asia-Pacific region. shadi won it, a player from Saudi Arabia. The region is not part of the RLCS 2025 1v1 Major, though.

Middle East & North Africa (MENA) and North America have 1v1 qualifiers during the RLCS 2025 Split 2. The top 1 players from these regions will have a match at the Raleigh Major, and the winner will advance to the 1v1 World Championship.
