Karmine Corp is the champion of the RLCS Winter Major, bringing home $100,000 USD and a ticket to the RLCS 2022-23 World Championship.

We finally have the RLCS Winter Major champion and it is none other than Karmine Corp! After a long Winter Season ending with the intense RLCS Winter Major, they emerge as the champion, bringing home $100,000 USD. They have also reserved the first invite to the upcoming RLCS 2022-23 World Championship.

Karmine Corp breezes through the RLCS Winter Major

The French organization went into the RLCS Winter Major as the favorite. They qualified for the Major as the European top seed after a dominating season with two Regional wins.

They had a green streak throughout the group stage, winning every match against Team Falcons, Team Vitality, and Dignitas. Karmine Corp got first place in their group and advanced directly to the quarterfinals of the playoffs.

The team then went into the playoffs and in every match they narrowly missed the Champions Field. They first went against G2 Esports in the quarterfinal which ended well for them with a 4:2 score.

The team then proceeded to the semifinal against fellow European rival, Team Liquid. Karmine Corp has previously lost to Team Liquid in the last regional of the Winter Major. This is also the first time Team Liquid has ended up among the top four teams in an RLCS Major. Fueled by determination, Team Liquid gave the French team a good fight. Unfortunately, Karmine Corp knows better than to give any hope for Team Liquid. They defeated Team Liquid with a 4:2 score.

NA number one vs. EU number one

The beast of a team reached the grand final with only one purpose - to lift the trophy of the RLCS Winter Major. They have to go against FaZe Clan, the number one team in North America. FaZe Clan has just defeated Complexity Gaming in the semifinal, breaking their fourth-clan curse. The top seed of NA and EU faced each other on the field, carrying the hope of their regions.

In the first game, FaZe Clan kept on answering Karmine Corp's attacks but their defense slipped in the last two-second with a goal joined by another zero-second goal by ExoTiiK. FaZe Clan was not having it and they managed to penetrate Karmine Corp's defense and took the next two games for them.

Karmine Corp took their time out and when they went into Game 3, they humbled FaZe Clan with a 7:0 score. Game 4 also ended well for them with a 3:2 score and a zero-second goal by Vatira.

The last game was intense. Karmine Corp and FaZe Clan each have scored a goal but Karmine was determined to end it right there. With sharp skill and execution, itachi scored the last goal in the last five seconds. Karmine Corp emerged as the winner with a 4:2 score.

Karmine Corp won the RLCS WInter Major with this roster:

  • Amine "itachi" Benayachi
