Falcons win their first Rocket League Major! Championship Sunday in Raleigh

The final tournament day features five exciting matches: all of them come with the thrill and threat of elimination. Only six teams made it this far at the RCLS 2025 Raleigh Major. The grand final crowns the Champions.

It is great to see three regions in the final part of the Playoffs. Europe is represented by two teams: Vitality crush their way at the tournament as they’ve experienced no losses so far; Dignitas achieved some spectacular wins, including against Karmine Corp and Gen.G. Secret represent South America, and they eliminated The Ultimates in an extremely dramatic Rocket League esports battle.

NRG is the last team from North America, and their run at the Raleigh Major is far from being flawless. The Middle East has two teams playing on Championship Sunday: Falcons and Twisted Minds.

Team Secret and Dignitas had a super close match; the score doesn't reflect that. The ball spent so much time bouncing near Dignitas' goal, but the saves to avoid goas were just brilliant.

Somehow, it was Dignitas who managed to find cracks in the defense of Secret — like a goal in game 1 with 0 seconds on the clock or two goals in a few first seconds of game 2. Also, Dignitas turned out to be more resistant to pressure: they scored in two final overtimes.

Twisted Minds started the series with great power. They earned a nice advantage in game 1, so NRG had no space to respond properly. TM scored right after the kick off in game 2, and then they almost repeated the previous script.

NRG went for full offense to chase their opponents. This created great moments and unnecessary mistakes, like a teammate bump in game 3. Twisted Minds reached the match point in overtime of game 4, so NRG had no other choice but to win the two following games. The American team actually needed to recover from a score disadvantage for this and then win two overtimes — sure, they did it.

In the first semifinal, Dignitas eliminated Vitality. They made a clear statement in game 1, scoring right after the opening kick off. Then, Dignitas delivered a few more goals — to reach the match point.

Vitality weren't easy victims, as they scored in each lost game. However, they overcommitted in offense pretty often, so too many Dignitas' goals were into an open net. Dignitas learnt that bad habit to lose game 4, but they still got themselves together to celebrate victory in the final overtime.

NRG scored the first goal in this series and won the first game. However, Falcons responded powerfully. Their defense was so flawless. It looked like NRG were knocking on that door constantly, but the ball hit Falcons' cars again and again.

Sure, NRG treated the crowd to some goals, but Team Falcons did more of those. They face Dignitas in the Raleigh Major final.

Dignitas had a promising start to the series: they won game 1, and the opponents looked somewhat disoriented. Still, Falcons recovered brilliantly. They dominated game 2 and won extremely close game 3.

Dignitas made bitter and crucial mistakes: like a collision of two players to give Falcons an almost free goal. It felt somewhat weird to see only two goals from Falcons in game 4. They created so many opportunities!

In game 5, it was time for Falcons to make mistakes. Miscommunication cost them a goal, but Dignitas scored even more — only to take the game to overtime. Falcons scored their final goal at the RLCS 2025 Raleigh Major, and they won the tournament!

It’s the first Major title for Falcons and the first time ever that a non-EU and non-NA team wins such a big Rocket League esports event.

Not only did Twisted Minds reach the Championship Sunday, but they also eliminated one of the tournament favorites, Karmine Corp — after a truly mind-blowing reverse sweep on Rocket League Raleigh Major Playoffs Day 1, from 0:3 to 4:3.

The current roster of Team Vitality is formed with three World Champions. M0nkey M00n and ExoTiiK won in 2024 as part of Team BDS; Zen was part of the victorious Team Vitality in the 2022-23 season.

This year turned out to be tough for Vitality. Their regional results were shaky, and they couldn’t go further than the top 6 in Birmingham.

They were considered the best EU team in 2025, and they won the RLCS 2025 Birmingham Major. However, after a good opening match, Karmine Corp suddenly couldn’t defeat The Ultimates and Dignitas. They barely qualified for the playoffs.

Their first match in front of the crowd was awful. It never feels good to reach the match point and then lose four games in a row.

In general, FURIA is traditionally the #1 team in South America. It rarely happens that Secret win the regional competition. It’s even rarer to see them performing better than home-country competitors at the international Rocket League esports events. Raleigh Major is exactly such an occasion!

Team Secret fell to the elimination zone during the Swiss stage, but they recovered and reached the playoffs. In the opening match, Secret defeated Gentle Mates Alpine.

After this tournament, the community’s eyes are on the next events. The Rocket League Esports World Cup 2025 is from Aug. 14 to Aug. 15. The World Championship 2025 Finals event is from Sep. 9 to Sep. 14.
