It’s not just all about tending to your garden anymore, as Grow a Garden introduces some cooking mechanics!
For the August 2 update, Grow a Garden adds the Cooking Event, where players can prepare delicious meals by combining specific fruits and sending them over to the pig chef NPC to obtain various rewards.
In addition to the new event, Jandel made trading much safer by introducing a Trading Ticket requirement, which opens a new trading window that prevents scammers from taking your fruits for free.
Along with the other new items, plants, and pets, this post will cover everything you need to know about the Cooking Event and the game’s trading system.
Grow a Garden’s Major Updates: The Cooking Event and Trading System
Cooking Event

Replacing the Zen and Corrupted Event is the Cooking Event, and understanding its mechanics is as easy as pie (no pun intended).
At the center of the map, you got a new pig NPC with the name of Chris P., a cooking stove, and a blackboard with the label “INGREDIENTS” on it. Every hour, Chris P. will share his cravings, and if you can cook that meal and submit it to him, you’ll get random rewards based on the quality of the ingredients you used for cooking.
All ingredients for every available meal for this event are obtainable from the crops in the game. If you want an in-depth guide for satisfying Chris P.’s cravings, you can check out our post on all the cooking recipes for Grow a Garden’s Cooking Event.
Trading System

In the Gear Shop, you can now purchase a Trading Ticket if it’s in stock. It costs 100,000 Sheckles or 19 Robux, but it’s better to buy it using Sheckles, since you can get it just by staying online and checking the shop every so often.
A Trading Ticket allows you to initiate trading with other players, which opens a trading window that forces every party involved to show and finalize their trading offers within a time limit. From now on, don’t trust anybody who wants to “trade” with you using the game’s gifting system. Ask them to use a Trading Ticket instead.

Here is the latest roster of new pets that you might get by participating in Grow a Garden’s Cooking Event:

- French Fry Ferret (Divine, 1% chance to get from the Gourmet Egg)
