The new season adds a revamped shield mechanic that allows defensive operators to take risks and play slightly more aggressively. Ofcourse, the balance is that they are putting themselves and in turn, the team at risk. But these changes should help improve the pick rates for certain operators in the game at the highest level.
Changes to attachment and ADS upgrades also mean that grips, Under Barrels and Sights have received changes. Specifically, there has been an increase in magnification, which is useful at the lowest magnification levels.
We also have new PLayer Protections which will ensure that Ranked matches are no longer frustrating for experienced players. Ranked restrictions now feature two groups - returning and New players. Returning and New players will have restrictions on access to Ranked until certain requirements are met. These requirements include winning five matches in either Quick Match or Standard. There are also more restrictions which you can read here.
The new Rainbow Six Year 9 Season 1 also adds a brand new operator - Deimos. Deimos brings a unique Ultimate ability that works like a small helicopter drone. This drone will mark the opponent but only for Deimos. So playing Deimos requires you to have excellent communication skills with your teammates.
Here are Deimos’ loadout:
Primary Weapon:
- AK74M
- M590 A1
