The Rainbow Six Siege marketplace is where players can buy or sell R6 credits. They can use credits to buy skins from the past. The marketplace will be accessible from the browser and mobile, Ubisoft had said in its initial announcement in early November.
Valve’s Steam also features a Marketplace that extends to almost all of the games available on the platform. The Seattle-based company takes a small cut of all transactions on the Steam Community Market.
Counter-Strike, one of the most popular FPS titles, relies on Valve’s robust marketplace. With the game’s growing popularity, it also resulted in an increased number of transactions which in turn provided an earning boost for Valve. With the Rainbow Six Siege marketplace, Ubisoft aims to create an alternative to Valve’s dominance in the game distribution market and marketplace.
