It’s the first major Rainbow Six esports event of 2025. Twenty teams clashed in an intense group stage, but only eight secured spots in the R6 RE:L0:AD Rio playoffs.
An exciting Rainbow Six Siege (R6) carnival takes place in Rio, and it sure is full of competition. In addition to the battle for the $520,000 prize pool, the best teams in the world esports-test the newest version of the game. It’s the first time ever that we can witness Siege X being played on such a major stage.
RE:L0:AD Rio de Janeiro 2025 consists of two stages. The main part is the final brackets, and they happen from May 16 to May 18

Rainbow Six Siege RE:L0:AD format
The Rainbow Six Rio event started with the group stage. The top teams remained in the tournament for the playoff elimination battles.
- 20 teams played through many matches of a unique Reload to Survive system. It’s based on special bullets: the teams received six of them at the beginning to “reload” for each match. - The top 8 teams of the group stage advanced to the classic single-elimination playoffs.

The group stage matches continued for five days, from May 10 to May 15. This period was intense and exciting.
The winner of the Rainbow Six Siege RE:L0:AD Rio event is determined after a series of playoff battles. All of the tournament details are in this section.
Group stage: Reload to Survive
The competitive format here was pretty unusual. With the bullet points, the traditional system of won and lost matches didn't work properly. The main goal for the 20 participants was to collect as many bullets as possible.

The next super-big Rainbow Six Siege esports event is the Esports World Cup 2025. It happens in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from August 5 to August 9. As for the official R6 Major tournaments, BLAST R6 Major 2025 is in November.
