One final win saved G2 Esports from not hitting the Playoffs — and they were one map away from elimination! Beyond that, the Group Stage of this R6 Siege X world cup revealed the strengths of some underdogs and flaws of some favorites.

Four groups at Six Invitational 2026 are expected to serve as a warm-up session for the upcoming Playoffs. Still, this tournament phase proved to be extremely stressful for some teams and absolutely delightful for others.

G2 Esports on the verge of elimination

Their run in the Six Invitational 2026 Groups was totally disappointing: G2 had to rely on a miraculous recovery to not end this stage last in their group.

G2 got themselves strong opponents: FaZe Clan. Apart from that, it was an alright group for a team of such a level. G2 Esports were in the grand final of R6 Siege X Esports World Cup 2025. They finished second at the EML 2025 Regional Finals and became the third team on the global leaderboard for this season.

Six Invitational 2026 started for G2 with two harsh losses: to Shopify Rebellion and Black Dragons. G2 still won over Dplus to keep the hope for the very last round.

In the decisive match versus FaZe Clan, G2 lost map 1 in overtime. They delivered a mighty hit with a 7:0 on Lair to then win their qualification spot on map 3.

Fans certainly expected more from their team. Rainbow Six Siege X G2 Esports advance to the lower side of the Six Invitational Playoffs. Each match for them is a risk of elimination.

Weibo Gaming was amazing!

As for the positive surprises, Weibo Gaming delivered one. The team competes in Asia, and this R6 region often struggles at big international events. Weibo celebrated four wins in four matches, including a 2:0 over Ninjas in Pyjamas and a 2:1 over the Munich Major winners, M80.

The highest placement for Weibo Gaming last year was the top 8 at the R6 EWC 2025.

Wildcard and Secret are at the top!

Having these teams as group winners is another confirmation of the recent shift in the global R6 power balance. Europe and North America have become super dangerous opponents for Brazilian teams.

Wildcard were in the top 4 at the Munich Major and at the RE:LO:AD tournament. At the Six Invitational Groups, they defeated some of the biggest favorites: FURIA and Falcons.

Team Secret were the Rainbow Six Siege X EWC 2025 champions. They could not shoot as high at other big events, though. Secret finished top 6 at the EML 2025 Regional Finals and in the Munich Major.

This time, Secret dominated their group, including wins over Spacestation Gaming and Fluxo W7M.

Difficulties for M80 and Team Falcons

At the R6 Munich Major 2025, these two teams played in the grand final. Falcons and M80 are among the Six Invitational favorites on all the best esports betting sites! Still, not everything went smoothly for them during the Group Stage.

M80 were defeated by Weibo Gaming and FEARX. The second loss is a mighty blow for the Munich Major champions, as FEARX couldn’t qualify for the Playoffs at Six Invitational 2026. Winning over NiP and Team Heretics still feels good.

Team Falcons got the first place on the Global Points leaderboard for the season 2025-2026. They won the EML 2025 Regional Finals and were second in Munich. During the Six Invitational 2026 Groups, Falcons lost to Wildcard and FURIA. Their wins were against underdogs.

FaZe Clan to lead Brazilian R6 Siege X esports

The Six Invitational 2025 champions were #1 in their group and earned the best results among all the Brazilian powerhouses. FaZe Clan lost only to G2 Esports, which allowed the opponents to remain in the competition.

FURIA won RE:LO:AD 2025, and that was their last big success ahead of the Six Invitational. In the Groups, FURIA defeated Team Falcons but lost to Wildcard.

Fluxo W7M is the new name for the w7m esports roster after the merger of two orgs. These players experienced only one loss in the Six Invitational Groups, and it was to Team Secret.

Ninjas in Pyjamas were close to elimination, as they had only one win in the Groups, over FEARX.

Four teams are out of the Six Invitational 2026

The Group Stage turned out to be cruel for these participants. R6 esports is tough, and the eliminated teams demonstrated great spirit!

FEARX managed to defeat M80 during their run. This win clearly shows their potential.

Elevate had a very difficult tournament. They gave an excellent fight to some opponents: an overtime on map 1 versus Falcons and a win on Border versus Wildcard.

Black Dragons had a real chance to qualify for the Playoffs. They defeated G2 Esports, and their final placement was decided in the match G2 vs FaZe.

ENTERPRISE Esports players have a lot to reflect on after this tournament. Having no map wins is harsh, but it’s also an experience to grow up on.

The Group Stage results are just an introduction to the fierce competition at the Six Invitational 2026 Playoffs. The teams should learn their lessons and focus on the ultimate goal, which is lifting the trophy.

The tournament continues with two sets of final-bracket matches: behind closed doors, from Feb. 8 to Feb. 10, and in front of a live crowd, from Feb. 13 to Feb. 15.
