What is the tournament format?
The tournament has three stages. Each stage eliminates a few teams and sends a few more to the next stage. Here’s a brief rundown of each of the stages.
Phase 1: May 16-17, 2024
- Double elimination bracket
- Eight teams
- All games are bo3
- Top four teams qualify to Phase 2
Phase 2: May 19-22, 2024
- 16 teams
- Swiss Format system
- All elimination and advancement matches are best-of-three
- All other matches are best-of-one
- Top eight teams qualify for Phase 3
Phase 3: May 24-26, 2024
- Eight teams
- Single-elimination bracket
- Quarterfinals and semifinals are best-opf-three series
- Grand Final is best of five

There are a total of twenty participating teams in the R6 Manchester Major. The teams start off with Phase 1 which took place on May 16-17, and then proceed to the next two stages. The Final stage - Phase 3 takes place over three days from May 24-26, 2024.
