Prepare to save Shadow Palkia in Pokémon GO.
The next Pokémon that Trainers need to save from Giovanni will be Shadow Palkia, which will be coming into the game during the Fashion Week: Taken Over event. As with all Team GO Rocket takeovers there are new Shadow Pokémon, refreshed line-ups for Grunts, Sierra, Arlo, Cliff and Giovanni.
Here are full details about what is coming during Fashion Week: Taken Over, including details on how you can get your hands on Shadow Palkia.
Fashion Week: Taken Over event details
The Fashion Week: Taken Over event runs during the second half of the 2025 Fashion Week event, which has already been announced. Fashion Week: Taken Over runs from Wednesday, January 15, at 12:00 a.m. to Sunday, January 19, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time.
Event Bonuses
- Team GO Rocket will appear more frequently at PokéStops and in balloons.
- You can use a Charged TM to help a Shadow Pokémon forget the Charged Attack Frustration.
Save Shadow Palkia from Giovanni in Pokémon GO
At the start of the event, Special Research will be unlocked. Progressing through it will give you a Super Rocket Radar and allow you to battle Giovanni. You can claim this Special Research until the end of Pokémon GO: Dual Destiny on March 4, 2025, at 9:59 a.m. local time.
Then, if you manage to defeat Giovanni you will be able to encounter Shadow Palkia. This looks set to be a pretty useful Pokémon, so will be well worth trying to get.

Shadow Palkia isn't the only new Shadow Pokémon coming to Pokémon GO during Fashion Week: Taken Over. There are several new Shadow Pokémon you can encounter when battling Team GO Rocket Grunts.

- Shadow Oshawott
- Shadow Trubbish
- Shadow Bunnelby
There is also a debut for the Toxic Mouse Pokémon, Shroodle, and its Evolution, Grafaiai. Starting with Fashion Week: Taken over, Shroodle will be available to hatch from 12 km Eggs.
Fashion Week: Taken Over Shadow Raids
During the Fashion Week: Taken Over event, there will be a fresh rotation of Shadow Pokémon in Shadow Raids. They are as follows:
One Star Raids:
- Shadow Nidoran♀
- Shadow Nidoran♂
- Shadow Totodile
- Shadow Ralts
Three Star Raids:
- Shadow Electabuzz
- Shadow Magmar
- Shadow Wobbuffet
