What Field Research have guaranteed special Backgrounds during Pokémon GO Community Day?

There are some Field Research tasks that always award a featured Pokémon encounter with the special event Background. Here are the Field Research tasks to keep an eye out for and make sure you complete:

  • Win a five-star or higher Raid
  • Trade a Pokémon
  • Complete a Party Challenge

These tasks have the same shiny odds as wild encounters, even if they are completed after the Community Day ends.

Quaxly Community Day: Pokémon GO Tips and Tricks

This Quaxly Pokémon GO Community Day is primarily a great chance to get a Shiny of a new Pokémon if you don't have it already. We also have the hugely popular 3x Stardust bonus on offer.

That means you will want to have a single focus during this event. Catch, catch catch! You can farm a lot of Stardust during these three hours, especially if you can use a Star Piece too.

Don't forget to stack up the Field Research that can give you encounters with Special Background Quaxly. This includes win a five star Raid and Trade a Pokémon. Doing multiple of these at once saves you Raid Passes and time!

There is no XP bonus for this event, instead focused on just Stardust. However, you can still get some good XP gains from the event anyway.

Also important is to use any Water-type Pokémon at Mega Level 3. These will boost candy and XP from catching Quaxly. Here are the Pokémon you can Mega Evolve to get extra Candy, Candy XL and XP for catching Quaxly:

  • Kyogre
  • Blastoise
  • Swampert
  • Slowbro
  • Gyarados

Don't forget some other easy tips:

  • Don't catch Pokémon before the event starts. These Pokémon can turn into Quaxly.
  • Spin as many Pokéstops as possible, to get event specific Field Research as well as extra resources.
  • Don't activate Lures or Incense till the event starts to get the extra time.
  • Have fun!
