Pokémon GO is kicking off another special event to celebrate the release of a new Pokémon game.

To mark the launch of the highly anticipated cozy life simulation, Pokémon Pokopia, the game will host the Pokopia Celebration Event, featuring a variety of Pokémon — including a brand-new costumed variant of Ditto.

Although this event will also highlight a number of Gen 1 Pokémon, like the 30th Anniversary Event, it remains a must-join one, especially if you need to grind some XPs for your character. Moreover, you can get lots of candies for Pokémon that are rarely seen in the game, such as Sudowoodo and Zorua.

Pokémon Pokopia is already shaping up to be one of the highest-rated Pokémon games, based on early reviews from sites that had a chance to play it before release.

It’s disappointing that some of Pokopia’s mysterious Pokémon, like Professor Tangrowth and Mosslax, won’t make their Pokémon GO debut this time. Nevertheless, players can still enjoy the new costumed Ditto and a host of other Pokémon as part of the game’s celebration event.

Here are all the important details to know about the Pokopia Celebration Event in Pokémon GO, including its duration, bonuses, and wild spawns.

The Pokopia Celebration Event will run from 10:00 AM on March 10, 2026, to 8:00 PM on March 16, 2026, based on your local time. Once the event is online, event-themed Pokémon will start roaming the wild, and the following bonuses will become active as you play Pokémon GO:

  • Double XP gained from spinning PokéStops.
  • x10 XP for spinning a PokéStop for the first time.
  • Better chances of encountering Shiny variants of Sudowoodo and Zorua.

More Pokémon are expected to join the fray for this event. All mentioned Pokémon above can be encountered in their Shiny variants. Costumed Ditto can appear in the wild disguised as other Pokémon, so keep an eye out for them!

Like all the wild spawns, these raid Pokémon can also be encountered in their Shiny forms.
