Here comes Mega Dragonite!
Ascended Heroes, the newest entry in the Mega Evolution series and the first special set for 2026, will enter the Pokémon TCG market on the 30th of January.
The set’s defining ex cards will include 13 Mega Evolution Pokémon, six Tera Pokémon, and an assortment of Trainer Pokémon cards. Based on the official artwork for the products shown online, the much-awaited Mega Dragonite ex (revealed earlier at the closing ceremony of the 2025 Pokémon World Championships) will make its debut in the card game.
Ascended Heroes doesn’t stop at Mega Evolution and Tera cards. The set also packs in 30 Trainer cards and at least 30 special illustration rares, all wrapped up in a lineup that reportedly tops 290 cards in total.
All Ascended Heroes cards so far
At the time of the announcement, only four cards for Ascended Heroes had been confirmed. Although it’s also worth noting that we already have a sneak peek of the Mega Dragonite ex, which will likely have the same artwork and text as well.
These four cards are:
- Mega Charizard Y ex
- Mega Gengar ex
- Entei
- N’s Vanilluxe
The Ascended Heroes set is based on the MEGA Dream ex set, which will hit the market much earlier than its English counterpart on November 28, 2025.
Pokémon TCG: Ascended Heroes products
As a special set, there’ll be no available single booster packs or booster boxes for the Ascended Heroes set. Fans intending to collect all of its cards can only access the packs by purchasing any of the following products:

Pokémon TCG will likely announce more Ascended Heroes products next year. The set’s products are spread across the first half of 2026, lining up with future main sets in the Mega Evolution series.
Beyond the new Mega Pokémon cards, it’ll be interesting to see what this set brings to the table for Tera Pokémon. With all of the Scarlet and Violet–era Tera cards about to leave the rotation, these new ones are almost guaranteed to shake up the 2026 meta.
