Earn lots of candies and get a chance to obtain a 100% IV Riolu as the Aura Pokémon returns for another Hatch Day event.
On April 18, 2026, Pokémon GO will launch the Replay: Riolu Hatch Day, which is basically the re-run of the 2023 Riolu Hatch Day, the very first event of its kind in the game. This event will start at 2:00 p.m. and end at 5:00 p.m. of your local time.
Like in the mainline games, Riolu is a highly valuable mon in Pokémon GO, as it evolves into Lucario, a decent Fighting and Steel-type attacker. Lucario can also power up through Mega Evolution, and Mega Lucario is widely considered one of the best raid damage dealers among both Fighting and Steel types.
Hatch Day events are quite rare, so if you don’t have a Lucario yet or you need a Fighting-type counter for raid battles, you better not miss all the details about the Replay: Riolu Hatch Day.
Pokémon GO Replay: Riolu Hatch Day mechanics

During this 3-hour event, all Pokémon GO players will have an increased chance of hatching Riolu from 2 km Eggs. The odds of obtaining a Shiny Riolu will also be increased, with rates boosted to around 1 in 10.
On top of that, the Hatch Day event will also activate the following bonuses:
- Candy and XP earned from hatching Eggs are doubled.
- Eggs will hatch much faster, requiring only half of their specified distance. For this event, every 2 km Egg will hatch just after your avatar moves 1 km.
- Increased chances of finding 2 km Eggs.
- Participants can complete a free event, Timed Research, to get an Incubator and 5,000 XP.
How to get 2 km Eggs in Pokémon GO
2 km Eggs are the easiest Pokémon Eggs to get in the game. You can obtain this type of egg by spinning the Discs inside PokéStops and gyms.
Replay: Riolu Hatch Day Paid Timed Research

- x1 Star Piece.
- x2 Super Incubators.
What is the Hundo CP of Riolu from Eggs?
A Hundo is a Pokémon with 100% IVs, making it the best version of its species in terms of stats. When hatching wild Riolu, the CP indicates that it’s a Hundo with 567 CP.
Tips to make the most out of the Replay: Riolu Hatch Day 2026
For first-time participants of a Hatch Day, try to play in places with a high concentration of gyms and PokéStops. These locations could be malls, parks, or any public place with lots of landmarks and commercial establishments.
The best way to hatch as many 2 km Eggs as possible is by riding public transportation. Playing as a passenger lets you reach more gyms and PokéStops, spin more Photo Discs, and collect more 2 km Eggs than walking. Plus, traveling faster means you can hatch Eggs with minimal effort.
Be sure to collect extra Eggs in the minutes leading up to the end of the event, as you can still hatch Riolu from them even after the event concludes.
