Pokémon GO is cooking something sweet for this year’s Harvest Festival.
For the third time around, we’re going to get another Harvest Festival in Pokémon GO, and for 2025, the event will feature two Pokémon from Generation 9, Dipplin and Hydrapple.
Dipplin and Hydrapple both belong to the Applin evolutionary line, which already made its own debut earlier this April. Known as the Apple Core Pokémon, Applin is one of the few Pokémon in the entire franchise with the ability to evolve to more than two forms.

Out of all the Applin evolutions, Dipplin is the only one that can push its potential and evolve once more, becoming a Hydrapple, a Grass/Dragon-type multi-headed serpent that calls a piece of apple its home.
Judging by their type combination, it seemed like neither Dipplin nor Hydrapple could become nasty contenders in PvP, especially since they are highly vulnerable to Ice, alongside other weaknesses, namely Bug, Dragon, Fairy, Flying, and Poison.
Still, if you currently have an Applin with good IVs, playing during the 2025 Harvest Festival will give you lots of opportunities to make it even more powerful.
How to get Dipplin and Hydrapple in Pokémon GO
Dipplin and Hydrapple are only obtainable by capturing an Applin and meeting its evolutionary requirements:
- To evolve Applin into Dipplin, you’ll need 200 Applin Candy and 20 Syrupy Apples.
- To evolve Dipplin into Hydrapple, collect 400 Applin Candy and equip Dipplin as your buddy. While you have a buddy Dipplin, catch seven Dragon-type Pokémon.
Applin will start spawning more frequently anywhere throughout the duration of the Pokémon GO Harvest Festival.
What else to expect from the 2025 Harvest Festival

Once the Harvest Festival Event commences, apples will begin appearing more frequently in Pokémon GO. Tapping these apples may reward you with Sweet Apples, Tart Apples, Syrupy Apples, or an encounter with a Wild Pokémon like Applin.
Together with the apple spawns, players will also benefit from the Harvest Festival with these event bonuses:
- 2x Candy for using Pinap and Silver Pinap Berries for catching Pokémon.
- Improved chances of finding Shiny forms of Pumpkaboo and Smoliv.
- Apples are likely to appear near PokéStops with Mossy Lure Modules.
Harvest Festival Wild Spawns
Some of the Pokémon that will pop up in the game during the Harvest Festival include the following:
- Miltank
- Combee
- Smoliv
- Applin
Sadly, of all the Wild spawns above, Applin is the only one that can’t be captured in Shiny form. This also means that any Dipplin and Hydrapple obtained in the event will only be available in their regular forms.
Timed Research, Field Research, and Collection Challenges await
If you want, you can purchase a $5 Timed Research in the Pokémon GO Store to access additional bonuses, namely double duration for the Mossy Lure Module, which will make it easier for you to grind for Syrupy Apples.
PokéStops will also have more chances of giving out Berries like Silver Pinap and Golden Razz Berries. Additionally, completing the Timed Research itself will grant you these rewards:
- x30 Silver Pinap Berries
- Three Mossy Lure Modules
- Applin encounters
And lastly, participants of the Harvest Festival can complete various Field Research tasks and Collection Challenges to acquire more event-exclusive goodies.
