The City Safari returns to Pokémon GO in September 2025.
Niantic have revealed that the Pokémon GO City Safari returns in September, with five brand new events announced. City Safari took place earlier this year, with Trainers heading all over the world back in March to hunt Explorer Hat Eevee and a brand new Pokémon, Mudbray.
Trainers will get a second chance to acquire both of those Pokémon thanks to these brand new events being annonced. Mudbray is still exclusive to City Safari events, and is the main draw for Trainers to pack a bag and set out for an action packed weekend.
Where are the next Pokémon GO City Safari events?
As always, the City Safari events are spread out across the world. This time Europe is a little spoiled, with two events at the same time. There is then one in Canada, one in Mexico and finally one in Thailand.
While the long running request for an event in Australia hasn't been granted, there is still a nice spread of events. This means if they are able and willing, most Trainers should have an event reasonably near to them to travel too.

What should I expect at a City Safari event?
City Safari events are unique from the likes of GO Fest, GO Wild and GO Tour. There aren't insane Legendary and Mythical debuts, with the events operating in a more relaxed environment. Instead, these events are focused around exploration and catching.
Trainers have to find special PokéStops to gain costumed Eevee encounters, and can hunt shiny Pokémon. Shiny rates are boosted at City Safari events to about 1/64. This lets Trainers get lots of shinies across the weekend. The most desirable of which is Mudbray, but Unown also features heavily at this event.

While there is a Raid Lover add-on for the event, there are not usually special Raids. Whatever is in rotation will be featured. If this is a good Pokémon, then great. If you're not bothered about it, the event is focused on catching.
Tickets are priced very reasonably, and these events are very enjoyable. They are well worth visiting if you are able.
