Necrozma Adventure Effects in Pokémon GO: what do they do?

Ahead of Pokémon GO Fest: Global, Niantic have revealed that both Fusion forms of Necrozma will get brand new Adventure Effects.

These will be the second set of Adventure Effects to be introduced into Pokémon GO. They first made their debut earlier in the year, during Sinnoh Tour. Origin Form Dialga and Palkia both have their own Adventure Effects. These have proved popular among Trainers, but can be a tad expensive to use.

Here is what you can expect from the new Adventure Effects granted to Necrozma's two Fusion forms.

Necrozma fused with Solgaleo becomes Dusk Mane Necrozma. This powerful Psychic and Steel-type Pokémon learns the Charged Attack Sunsteel Strike, which will have an associated Adventure Effect.

This new Adventure Effect will harness the power of Sunlight for 10 minutes. During this time, Pokémon that typically appear during daytime will be attracted to your location, similar to the effect of Incense. Pokémon that can only evolve during daytime will be able to evolve at any time while this Adventure Effect is active.

Lucky Trainers may even encounter Rockruff that can evolve into Dusk Form Lycanroc.

That makes this a significantly cheaper Adventure Effect than Origin Form Dialga and Palkia's. However, it does seem a less powerful Effect.

Necrozma fused with Lunala becomes Dawn Wings Necrozma. This powerful Psychic and Ghost-type Pokémon learns the Charged Attack Moongeist Beam, which will have an associated Adventure Effect.

This new Adventure Effect works in the opposite way of Dusk Mane Necrozma. This Adventure Effect will harnesses the power of moonlight for 10 minutes. During this time, Pokémon that typically appear during nighttime will be attracted to your location, similar to the effect of Incense. Pokémon that can only evolve during nighttime will be able to evolve at any time while this Adventure Effect is active.

Like with Sunsteel Strike's Adventure Effect, lucky Trainers may even encounter Rockruff that can evolve into Dusk Form Lycanroc.

You can only have one Adventure Effect active in Pokémon GO at once, including both forms of Necrozma and Origin form Dialga and Palkia. Choose carefully which Adventure Effect suits you best at any given time.

You can extend the time for an Adventure Effect in increments of 10 minutes by using more Candy and Stardust. The maximum you can add at once is two hours, and you can chain this up to a maximum of 24 hours at once.

Don't forget that as well as other Adventure Effects, neither of Necrozma's Effects can be active at the same time as an Incense, a Daily Adventure Incense, the Mystery Box, or the Coin Bag.
