Pokémon GO is bringing some new favorites to the game. Starting next month, Mega Malamar and Mega Victreebel will be available to catch.
February is setting up to a big month for Pokémon GO players, as the long-awaited Mega Malamar and Mega Victreebel are making their official debut within the game. The two will first appear in the game as apart of a massive event alongside their shiny variants.
Here is what we know.
Mega Malamar and Mega Victreebel to make official Pokémon GO debut during Pokémon GO Tour: Kalos
Beginning next month, the official Pokémon GO Tour: Kalos will take place. This event will take place in Los Angeles and Tainan from February 20, 2026, to February 22, 2026, with a global version of the event happening from February 28, 2026, to March 1, 2026.
While the two Pokémon will be apart of the game indefinitely, this event will showcase both Mega Malamar and Mega Victreebel, meaning they will become quite harder to come across in the future.
And yes, their shiny variants will be available during the event, too.
This event is based around the region, Kalos, which is where Pokémon X & Y takes place. It is also the region that Mega Pokémon were first introduced and where the new Pokémon Legends: Z-A take place.
The event is just the beginning of Pokémon‘s 30th anniversary, with other events, games and more set to be announced on February 27, 2026 (Pokémon Day).
Want more Mega-Evolved Pokémon? The game is not stopping with these two
For those who purchase a ticket add-on, they will be able to participate in a Mega Night once the official event concludes. Mega Night will give players a chance to catch additional Mega-Evolved Pokémon.

Better yet, ticket holders who take part in the event, whether its in-person or globally, will get the chance to encounter an Xerneas or Yveltal.
