Take on Kyogre with our Raid Guide.

Kyogre is back in Pokémon GO as we approach GO Fest Global. The powerful Water-type Pokémon will be in Raids from June 14 until June 23. This is one of the best Pokémon in the entire game, with an even better Primal form. Do NOT miss these Raids.

Perhaps the most powerful aspects of Kyogre is that its Primal form boosts candy, XL candy and awards additional XP for catching three different types of Pokémon. Water, Electric and Bug. Most Mega forms only cover one or two typings. Get a Kyogre, and get it to Mega Level 3 ASAP!

Here is everything you need to know to take on Kyogre in Pokémon GO.

Best Kyogre counters in Pokémon GO:

Kyogre has a weakness to Electric and Grass-types. It has a resistance to Fire, Ice, Steel and Water-type attacks.

Mega SceptileFury Cutter & Frenzy Plant
Mega RayquazaDragon Tail & Dragon Ascent
Mega VenusaurVine Whip & Frenzy Plant
ZekromCharge Beam & Fusion Bolt
KartanaRazor Leaf & Leaf Blade

Mega AmpharosVolt Switch & Zap Cannon

RillaboomRazor Leaf & Grass Knot
ChesnaughtVine Whip & Frenzy Plant
Tapu BuluBullet Seed & Grass Knot
Dawn Wings NecrozmaPsycho Cut & Moongeist Beam
MeowscaradaLeafage & Frenzy Plant

Some of the Pokémon here are standard Grass and Electric-type Raid Attackers. Mega Sceptile, Kartana, Xurkitree and Zekrom are all Pokémon that Trainers should have in their collection.

There aren’t a huge amount of Grass and Electric-type Pokémon to choose from. That means that some of the better options are easily accessible options, which is good news. Rillaboom, Chesnaught and Meowscarada are reasonably easy to access and power up. That means you will hopefully be able to build a strong team to take on Kyogre in Pokémon GO even if you don’t have legendary Pokémon.

Can Kyogre be shiny in Pokémon GO?

Yes, Kyogre can be shiny after your Raid in Pokémon GO. Keep your eye out for that iconic purple colour!

Mega Evolutions to get you more Kyogre candy in Pokémon GO

Mega Evolutions can help you get more candy and XL candy with every catch. Having a mega level 3 active that boosts candy for Water-types will give you an extra 2 candy per catch, as well as a 25% bonus to your XL candy chance.

Here are the Pokémon you can Mega Evolve to get more Kyogre candy in Pokémon GO:

  • Blastoise
  • Slowbro
  • Gyarados

How many trainers do I need to beat Kyogre in Pokémon GO?

Kyogre can be tough to take on in Pokémon GO. You will need three high level trainers at a minimum if you want to win this Raid. However, to be safe, aim for a group of five or more trainers.

Additonally, make sure you’re using Party Play to get that bonus damage in Raids. You can party up with anyone, not just those on your Friends list.

What is the Kyogre Pokémon GO 100% IV hundo CP?

With Kyogre being the one of the best Water-type Pokémon in Pokémon GO, you’ll want to have the best IV’s possible and get that illusive hundo CP.

Here are the hundo CP numbers to look out for when you’re catching your Kyogre:

  • 2351 CP
  • 2939 CP (Weather boosted)
