Pokémon Champions has officially gotten a release date, but what else do we know about the upcoming game?
We are only a few weeks away from the release of Pokémon Champions, and the upcoming title has left fans with more questions than answers. So, what do we all know about Pokémon Champions?
What is Pokémon Champions?
Pokémon Champions is the upcoming competitive title within the Pokémon franchise that allows players to take on battles with other trainers across the world. The game will be the official platform the Video Game Championships, featuring various tournaments and more.
In fact, Pokémon Champions will more than likely become the face of competitive Pokémon outside of the TCG.

The game will feature 3v3 battles, with players forming teams catered to their play style. Any information on future tournaments has yet to be revealed by the Pokémon Company, but we should expect more news after the game’s release.
Release date
Pokémon Champions is set to release on April 8, 2026, making it Pokémon‘s third big video game release in 2026, with Leaf Green first then Pokopia.
Compatible systems

Right now, Pokémon Champions will strictly be releasing for the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. However, it was announced earlier this year that the game will also be getting a mobile version. While we do not have a release date for the mobile version of Pokémon Champions, we do know that it will release sometime later this year.
Home compatibility
Those wondering whether or not the game will have Pokémon Home compatibility will be happy to learn Pokémon Champions will be able to grab your Pokémon that sit within Home.
However, no one really knows how you acquire Pokémon outside of Home, meaning we will have to wait and see if there is a storyline to help you catch and train Pokémon or if it all comes from Pokémon Home.
The game will be free-to-play, but feature micro transactions for those looking to spend a little bit of cash.
