Get ready for Pokémon Champions, a new stadium-style battling game that was revealed during the February Pokémon Presents.
The February 2025 Pokémon Presents did not disappoint with game news. We were treated to a reveal and first look at an upcoming title known as Pokémon Champions. Think of it as a modern version of Pokémon Stadium.
The game is listed as "now in development" and its rating is pending. But we do know that it will be available on Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android devices. This will let trainers from all over the world battle in this epic stadium-style game.
Let's go over everything we know about it so far.
Everything revealed about Pokémon Champions during Pokémon Presents
The trailer started with two young kids playing on their Gameboys. They battled Pokémon via a link cable, bringing back memories of the old days and the original way trainers battled and traded their Pokémon with friends.
Cut to Pokémon Stadium on the Nintendo 64, followed by the evolution through devices such as the Wii, the 3DS, and now onto the Switch. And then the big reveal shows a person sitting in public, playing Pokémon Champions on their phone.
What Pokémon were shown?
It looks like it will be up to date with all recent Pokémon. One trainer has Aegislash and Dondozo, while the other battles with Charizard and Hisuian Samurott. It is a double battle, like you'd find in official Pokémon battling competitions.
Near the end of the trailer, the trainer with the Charizard transforms it into Mega Charizard X. Then the trainer with the Dodonzo uses Terastallization on it. That makes us wonder if Dynamax will also be a battle feature? We'll have to see.
