We just got our first look at the Gen 10 Pokémon starters.
The official Gen 10 starters have been revealed. Pokémon gave us our first look at Pokémon Winds and Waves this morning during its official Pokémon Presents for the franchise’s 30th anniversary. In this Presents, the company showed us what we can expect from the Gen 10 games, Winds and Waves, including the three starters.
So, let’s dive in deeper and break down the new Pokémon Gen 10 starters.
Pokémon Winds & Waves starters; Who will you choose?
One of Pokémon’s most famous (and biggest) components is its starter Pokémon. Each game gives you the option to choose between three different starter Pokémon, one a water-type, one a grass-type and one a fire-type.

These Pokémon always have unique evolutions, giving players a solid Pokémon to fight with early on. In the past, we have seen starters such as Charmander, Totodile, Chikorita and more. Well, Pokémon Winds and Waves will be no different, as we have officially been given a look at the game’s three starters: Browt, Pombon and Gecqua.
Browt

The grass-type starter Pokémon in Gen 10 has been revealed to be named Browt. The small green bird almost looks like a cousin to Chikorita, but just a bit plumper. While this is personally my least favorite of the three new starters, we do have zero idea what its third and final evolution will be.
I mean, if a Magikarp can turn into a Gyarados, then I would say anything is possible.
Pombon

Resembling a Pomeranian, Gen 10’s fire-type starter, Pombon, looks quite cute. However, cute Pokémon tend to always have ferocious evolutions. My only question is, will Pombon’s final evolution still resemble a dog? Or will we be getting more of a wolf-like Pokémon?
Regardless, Pokémon is notorious for making its fire-type starters some of the coolest Pokémon in its franchise. I would expect Pombon’s evolution to be no different.
Gecqua

My personal favorite is the water-type Gen 10 starter, Gecqua. While we still have no idea what Gecqua’s third evolution looks like, the Pokémon is reminiscent of Froakie and Mudkip, which both have some of the best final evolutions in all of Pokémon.
With still a year (at least) before Pokémon Winds and Waves' release, we have much to learn regarding the starters. From what we know now, though, who do you plan on choosing?
