Twisted Minds won the 2025 OWCS World Finals at DreamHack Stockholm! Esports.gg interviewed them about their road to victory and more.
The 2025 Overwatch Champions Series (OWCS) World Finals just concluded at DreamHack Stockholm with Twisted Minds as the winning team! As the victors did their trophy lift, the audience cheered loudly, gold confetti fell, and many fans took out their phones to forever capture the unforgettable Overwatch 2 esports moment. After all the fanfare, esports.gg interviewed Twisted Minds players about their journey to the top!

Twisted Minds win OWCS World Finals 2025
In the post-match interview with esports.gg, Twisted Mind players talked about what it meant to achieve victory. To the roster, it wasn't simply a win for the Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region, but rather a dream come true for each player.
"It's been a dream," Daniel "FunnyAstro" Hathaway told esportsgg. "You know, this is everyone's dream. This isn't even about regions, really. At the start of our careers, everyone's dream is to win the World Championship. These guys won World Cup already, so this is like the final step of their career."
He continued, "And doing it in front of our home crowd in Europe -- it was a dream come true."
Ibrahem "Quartz" Alali agreed, recalling how even when Twisted Minds went up against the favored Korean teams such as Crazy Raccoon, Team Falcons, and T1, they pushed through thanks to their mental during matches and synergy outside of matches.
"Especially when it's against the Koreans as well," he said, adding to FunnyAstro's response. "We went against Team Falcons and Crazy Raccoons and T1. So we deserve it. This time, we deserve it."
Twisted Mind's journey to the top
In terms of how Twisted Minds reach the very top, it was attributed to aforementioned team synergy. This was especially the case in the grand final where Quartz looked unstoppable on Route 66, taking down foe after foe as Freja despite pushing on low ground. He found great off-angles even against the enemy Symmetra's Photon Barrier.
Meanwhile, Ahmad "Youbi" Alyoubi's Symmetra made Al Qadsiah respect his teleports and brawl meta. Then, his unmatched aim as Sojourn in Runasapi, coupled with Kim "Simple" Ji-sung's well-timed Kiriko ultimates on checkpoints, also landed him picks. Abdualziz "TVNT" Altmimi as the tank and Maximillian "Seicoe" Otter helped win the overall series, too.
"Me and Astro -- it was the real key [to] how we [won] the mirror," Quartz also said when we asked about the mirror DPS matches. "I put him in dangerous positions so he died,” he laughed.
"I think in mirror matchups, it's just about individuals," Youbi added. "The one who just plays better that day just wins."
Quartz and Youbi then agreed that it's about ultimate management as well.
OWCS World Finals 2025 results
During this year's OWCS World Finals event, Twisted Minds went 3-2 against T1 in the upper bracket before duking it out against Team Falcons and sweeping them 3-0. The team then got knocked down to the elimination bracket by Al Qadsiah. This forced Twisted Minds to face off against yet another Korean team. This time, it was Team Falcons' rivals from last year's OWCS World Finals -- Crazy Raccoon.
Yet Twisted Minds looked unstoppable, defeating Crazy Raccoon 3-1 to face Al Qadsiah once again in the revenge match. In the end, Twisted Minds took Nepal in Game 1 and King's Row in Game 2. Although Al Qadsiah created potential for a reverse sweep with a win in New Junk City after, that was dashed as Twisted Minds took Route 66 and Runasapi in Game 4 and Game 5.
When esports.gg asked the Twisted Minds players what they would do to celebrate their OWCS World Finals 2025 victory, everyone replied, "Fly in business class!" TVNT even revealed that he had promised it beforehand.

That's all for now. Major congratulations to Twisted Minds! Stick around on esports.gg for more Overwatch 2 interviews, news, and updates.
