Escanor joins Team Liquid for OWCS 2026
On March 20, Escanor officially joined Team Liquid’s esports roster as an emergency sub following the organization’s recent removal of Rupal “Rupal” Zaman. Escanor is now a support player alongside Diego “Vega” Moran. Other members of the updated roster are Boston “Infekted” Fine plus Colin “Coluge” Arai as tanks and Xavier “zeruhh” Zambrano plus Elliot “TR33” Chu as DPS players.
“We have full confidence in Escanor’s ability to step into this role and support the team,” Team Liquid announced on X. In a reply, the esports organization thanked the player for stepping up in such short notice.

Who is Escanor in Overwatch?
In terms of who Escanor is in the Overwatch esports scene, he’s a Saudi Arabian player who has steadily built his competitive experience across the Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) circuit. What happened to Overwatch pro Rupal?
On March 16, Team Liquid co-CEO Steve Arhancet announced Rupal’s removal on X after the player typed out a racial slur during a scrim. Arhancet stated that such language has no place in Overwatch or the organization.
“We began looking into the incident the moment it was brought to our attention,” Arhancet added. “After a thorough review, we have decided to release Rupal and remove him from our Overwatch roster.”
Arhancet also stated that Team Liquid players are expected to maintain a high level of professionalism and undergo media, communication, and sensitivity training. He then acknowledged that the process fell short in this case and that Team Liquid will review onboarding and retraining systems moving forward.
