You don’t necessarily have to choose Orisa to win in the Catch-A-Mari game mode, but it would be fitting for Overwatch’s Year of the Horse event!
If Overwatch Season 1's Hello Kitty and Conquest events aren't enough, then the game is also currently running its 2026 Lunar New Year event for Year of the Horse! This year's event features Roadhog's Catch-A-Mari game mode. Read on for our guide on all of the Overwatch Year of the Horse challenges and rewards. Overwatch Year of the Horse event
Overwatch 2's Year of the Horse event runs from Feb. 13 to March 3, giving players about 17 days to complete eight challenges for some Lunar New Year rewards. In addition to the Year of the Horse spray, players can earn up to three loot boxes, the Year of the Horse name card, plus a lot of Overwatch Season 1 Battle Pass XP.

Here are all of the Year of the Horse event challenges and rewards in Overwatch. You can click or tap on our screenshot to zoom in. The majority of the challenges simply require playing and completing matches. Wins grant double the progress as well. You can even play Stadium games to earn progress faster. The rest of the challenges require you to duke it out in Roadhog's Catch-A-Mari game mode.

Overwatch Catch-A-Mari guide
In Overwatch, Roadhog's Catch-A-Mari is a three-versus-three (3v3) game mode. The first team to reach 20 points wins the match. Whenever you eliminate an enemy hero, they drop a red pachimari. In celebration of Lunar New Year, the pachimari plushies are shaped like lanterns. Simply go on top of a red one to score a point for your team.
If one of your teammates gets eliminated, then they drop a blue pachimari. You can deny the enemy team a point by collecting it first.
Keep doing this until your team gets 20 points in total. Additionally, in terms of team compositions, a support hero does wonders in helping your team survive. You can also go the fun route and select one of the new Overwatch heroes like Jetpack Cat, Emre, Mizuki, Anran, or Domina! Do take note that this game mode doesn't include perks.
