Who is Mizuki in Overwatch?

Mizuki is the fourth playable Japanese character in the Overwatch universe, joining Kiriko, Hanzo, and Genji. Based on Mizuki's design and weapons, the hero is themed around the kappa. This refers to a type of monster or yokai in Japanese folklore. According to esports.gg's translation of Mizuki's hat, "河童" also means "kappa," which further reinforces that theme.

As for Mizuki's weapon, it's a traditional Japanese one. The kusarigama wraps around Mizuki's body and funnels into the hero's mechanical arm.

Mizuki is also aligned with Talon. "Dive into combat with the highly anticipated debut of five new heroes, including Talon-aligned Domina, Emre, and Mizuki, alongside," Blizzard Entertainment stated.

Interestingly, Mizuki is reminiscent of one of Kiriko's Yokai members.
