Blizzard Entertainment's Overwatch Spotlight event draws near. Read on for the live countdown to the event, the official trailer, some of esports.gg's predictions, and more!

Here is our live countdown to the 2026 Overwatch Spotlight event. The livestreams kicks off on on Feb. 4 at 10 a.m. PT. Since the livestream begins at the same time for everyone, our countdown works no matter where you're located.

Here is the official Overwatch Spotlight trailer as well. We can see that the video shows Freja, a bunch of existing Overwatch heroes, Tracer with a Galactic weapon skin, gameplay from the Stadium game mode, game director Aaron Keller's excitement over the perks system, the return of loot boxes, and past collaborations, mythic skins, and Vendetta as the latest hero to join the game's roster.

In terms of Overwatch Spotlight predictions, we noticed that all of the aforementioned references in the trailer pertain to updates in 2025. Therefore, to perhaps usher in the Overwatch Spotlight event, Venetta says "And so my reign begins!" The video then ends with Overwatch's colors dramatically becoming red to likely represent Talon's takeover. When we log in to the game now, we can also see the same colors and Talon's branding. This may hint at a Talon-themed Overwatch season. Further supporting this theory is the fact that Vendetta wants to build a new Talon.

The Overwatch Spotlight event may also introduce new heroes. Recently, there's been a lot of emphasis on the game's lore and story. For example, Anran was teased via the in-game story feature, Emre was featured in a new comic, and Domina had a conversation with Vendetta involving Talon.

As for other predictions, the Overwatch Spotlight event may acknowledge the rather quiet yet interesting removal of the "2" from "Overwatch 2." OWCavalry and Tough_Holiday584 pointed this out on X and on Reddit, respectively.
