You don't have all the time in the world for this one, as this is the final weekend in March for double the Overwatch Battle Pass XP.
If you haven’t completed your 2026 Overwatch Season 1 Battle Pass yet, then now is a great time to do so. For the past few weeks, players have been gaining double the Battle Pass XP for completing matches on weekends. Read on for the reason why plus a quick refresher on what’s included in the Overwatch Season 1 Battle Pass.

Overwatch double XP weekend now live
According to Blizzard Entertainment, these weekend Battle Pass XP bonuses are the Overwatch team’s way of thanking folks for playing the game. For context, Overwatch Season 1 launched earlier this year with five new heroes and even dropped the “2” from its title. This contributed to the hype and drove a major influx of new and returning players.
Data from SteamDB revealed that the number of concurrent players doubled the 2023 peak as well, reaching more than 165,000 on Steam when Overwatch Season 1 kicked off on Feb. 10. It should be noted that this figure did not include Battle.net users, either. Therefore, the total player base was likely higher.

Overwatch Season 1 Battle Pass XP explained
In Overwatch, Battle Pass XP is what levels up a player’s seasonal Battle Pass. Players earn rewards based as they reach higher and higher tiers. This season, notable skins include New Empire Vendetta, New Era Tracer, New Empire Moira, New Era Baptiste, New Era Lucio, New Empire Mauga, New Era Brigitte, and New Era Genji.

While the majority of these Talon versus Overwatch skins require the paid version of the Season 1 Battle Pass for at least 1,000 Overwatch Coins or about $9.99 USD, players do have the option grind for the New Era Baptiste and New Era Brigitte for free at tiers 40 and 70.
To gain Battle Pass XP, players must enter a match and complete it. They can also earn bonus Battle Pass XP by completing daily and weekly challenges. Of course, this weekend’s special double XP bonus event counts as well. Additionally, players can participate in limited-time events like this week’s Junkrat’s Loot Hunt for extra rewards outside of pure Battle Pass XP.
