A closer look at Genji's second-ever mythic in Overwatch. This time, it's the Sumi-ichimonji weapon skin.
Our favorite cyborg ninja has a new mythic weapon skin in Overwatch Season 2. Here’s a closer look at it and what to expect once you add it to your collection.

Sumi-ichimonji Genji weapon skin
In addition to the Volted Overdrive Soldier: 76 hero skin, Overwatch Season 2 features another mythic in the form of a weapon skin. It’s none other than the Sumi-ichimonji mythic for Genji, which references traditional ink-calligraphy and the hero’s association with dragons. The dragon can be seen on the blade itself.

The Sumi-ichimonji weapon skin also has four customization levels. At Level 1, the base weapon has ink and dragon-inspired details. Then, Level 2 includes flowing ink splashes while Level 3 gives Genji two flourish animations featuring his shuriken. Finally, at Level 4, Genji has a visual effect (VFX) where ink follows his blade as he cuts through enemies.
- Level 1 unlocks the weapon, establishing your mythic presence through unique ink and dragon details.
- Level 2 adds reactivity, bringing your weapons to life with flowing splatter effects.
- Level 3 unlocks two flourish animations to celebrate your eliminations, by spinning your shuriken into two variations.
- Level 4 lets you master the blade with a kill VFX where ink follows your command as you slash through enemies.

Overwatch Genji mythics
The Sumi-ichimonji weapon skin is another mythic release for Genji. Previously, Genji kicked off Overwatch 2 Season 1 back in 2022 with the Cyber Demon skin. Earlier this year, the game dropped the “2” from its name. Therefore, it’s now simply Overwatch Season 2.

How much does Genji’s mythic weapon skin cost?
Similar to previous Mythic weapon skins in Overwatch, such as the ones for Widowmaker and Juno, Genji’s Sumi-ichimonji and all of its customizations requires 80 Mythic Prisms. The base weapon costs 50 Mythic Prisms while the subsequent customization levels cost 10 each.
