“I was close to uninstalling.”

The 67 emote is now live in Overwatch 2! This new Soldier: 76 emote references a nonsensical expression that's popular among Gen Alpha, which makes it even funnier because Soldier: 76 is a 58-year-old character. Read on for the instructions on how to unlock the 67 emote in Overwatch 2 and how to equip it to annoy your teammates and enemies.

How to unlock the Overwatch 67 emote

To obtain the 67 emote in Overwatch 2, launch the game and start duking it out in some matches. You must play 20 matches in total, and wins count as either 6 or 7 matches. Therefore, you don't have to do too much thinking when earning progress toward the Soldier: 67 challenge.

After unlocking the emote, you can equip it by selecting "Heroes" from the main menu, choosing Soldier: 76, going into the "Emote" section, and selecting it. Then, press the "Equip" button. The best part of this emote is Soldier: 76 saying "6-7" out loud. It's like a bonus voice line!

In terms of the community response, Overwatch 2 players are already trolling each other. One user, JohnBBaka, posted a video on X of them getting eliminated by an enemy Soldier: 76. Instead of tea-bagging, the Soldier: 76 player used the 67 emote on them.

Overwatch 2 officially gets 67 emote

Back in November, the Overwatch 2 team teased the 76 emote on social media. They pointed out that Dictionary.com named 67 as the 2025 Word of the Year. Pronounced "six-seven," it was chosen because searches for 67 surged more than sixfold starting in mid-2025. The Overwatch 2 team even tagged Merriam-Webster in a reply, which added to the hilarity.

Fortnite joins the 67 shenanigans

Overwatch 2 isn't the only game with the 67 emote, either. According to HYPEX on social media, Fortnite will soon get the emote as well, further cementing it as a hilarious trend.

That's all for now. Will you be using the new emote? Stick around on esports.gg for more Overwatch 2 news and updates!
