Here’s what you can expect from the upcoming hero!
Overwatch 2's next hero, Venture, will enter the game soon. Read on for Venture's release date, how to unlock them, plus what to expect in terms of their abilities!
Overwatch 2 Venture release date
Venture will be available to players starting in Overwatch 2 Season 10 starting April 16. Blizzard confirmed this in an official post, adding that Venture will be the game's 40th hero. Venture will also be playable during a limited-time trial between March 28 and March 31.
How to unlock Venture in Overwatch 2
According to Blizzard, you will get immediate access to Venture in Overwatch 2 when they join the hero roster in Season 10. Venture will have underground mechanics and feature an adventurous spirit.
"New players will still need to complete the first-time user experience to unlock heroes as they learn the ropes," Blizzard stated. "Once the heroes from the original Overwatch roster have been unlocked, all Overwatch 2 heroes will also become available."
Overwatch 2 Venture abilities
- Burrow: Move underground and become invulnerable. Emerge to deal damage.
- Drill Dash: Dash forward, pushing enemies back.
- Tectonic Shock: Venture's ultimate. Send out damaging shockwaves.
- Smart Excavator: Launch a seismic charge that bursts after a short distance.
- Explorer's Resolve: Venture's passive. Using abilities grants temporary shields.
- Clobber: Venture's passive. Quick melee deals more damage.
This hero was first revealed during BlizzCon 2023, where the Overwatch 2 team gave attendees a preview of what to expect from them. The event showcased Venture's abilities and talked about what the new damage hero does best.
"The dig also — the most important part of this is it makes you invulnerable," Overwatch 2 game director Aaron Keller said during BlizzCon 2023. "So it's like you can't be hit when you're underground. It's a great way to escape. It's also a great way to get in close to players. You pop up like that."
