“Storm Arrows is the place to look in terms of bringing back some of the one-shots for certain thresholds.”
Overwatch 2 lead gameplay designer Alec Dawson has teased some potential Hanzo changes. Dawson revealed this information on June 26 during a Twitch livestream event with Jacob "Spilo" Clifton.
Overwatch 2 Hanzo gets Storm Arrows updates
According to Dawson, Hanzo has lost his kit's identity within the Overwatch 2 roster. For context, the damage hero previously had Scatter Arrow as his [E] ability. This allowed Hanzo to shoot an arrow that bounced off walls and objects. It also allowed him to strike multiple targets at once. However, it was later removed and replaced with Storm Arrows.
"Hanzo is the one we've been talking about in terms of — he's kind of lost his identity within the cast," Dawson said. "Storm Arrows is the place to look in terms of bringing back some of the one-shot for certain thresholds."

Overwatch 2 teases health total changes
He continued, noting possible changes to hero health totals as well. For example, bringing some health totals to 225 could, in turn, make Hanzo more effective in the meta.
"And that's some stuff we're playing with at the moment. I think we've previewed this a little bit ago. We're actually playing with some changes [to] bring some characters that are a bit more squirrely to 225 and seeing how that goes," he said. "And it does benefit Hanzo at that point. He becomes a character that can actually be very, very effective against some of those characters."
