The Overwatch 2 Persona 5 collaboration features the Phantom Thieves! Here’s everything to know about it.
Blizzard Entertainment just revealed the details of the previously teased Overwatch 2 x Persona 5 crossover, and it’s officially Overwatch 2 x Phantom Thieves! Here’s everything to know about the collaboration, including a first look at the Overwatch 2 Phantom Thieves skins and what to expect from tomorrow’s event.
Overwatch 2 Phantom Thieves release date
From Sept. 16 to Sept. 30, the Phantom Thieves from Persona 5 takes Overwatch 2 with a themed event hub, challenges, Easter eggs galore! The hub, for example, features Phantom Thieves-style menus, a unique shop overlay, plus new key art from artist Shigenori Soejima himself.
As for Easter eggs, a couple include Mercy’s Panther skin with rose petals inspired by Carmen and Wuyang’s weapon visually evoking Arsène. The heroes also leave paint splashes when the move about, according to art director Dion Rogers.

This Overwatch 2 x Persona 5 collaboration has five new skins, including Wuyang as Joker, Mercy as Panther, Lifeweaver as Fox, D.Va as Queen, and Genji as Skull. All of these skins are of the legendary rarity as well.

As noted, Blizzard Entertainment teased the Overwatch 2 x Persona 5 crossover on YouTube back in August 2025. When the teaser dropped, many players correctly predicted a Persona 5 Joker skin. Now, we know that Wuyang is the one who gets it!
“The Overwatch 2 dev team has a ton of huge fans on it, and we were able to pour that passion into some cool details that might not be obvious at a glance," Aimee Dennet, the associate director of product management, said. "For instance, part of the reason we chose Wuyang for our Joker skin is that they were both in school when they were recruited to their respective groups, so they have similar origins in that respect. We also have a bunch of Easter eggs for players to find, including the entrance to a very familiar location on some of our maps.”
