Overwatch 2 gets Gundam Wing collaboration

After teasing the collaboration through social media posts and a YouTube video, Blizzard Entertainment announced that an Overwatch 2 x Gundam Wing trailer is on the way. However, the Overwatch 2 x Gundam Wing skins were leaked early through a now-deleted Polygon article.

According to the deleted Polygon article, the Overwatch 2 Gundam Wing skins include Tallgeese Soldier: 76, Deathscythe Reaper, Wing Mercy, and Epyon Ramattra.

This collaboration celebrates Gundam Wing's 30-year anniversary. On April 1, the official Overwatch 2 account on X replied to a Gundam-centric account's post about the milestone.

"[Thirty] years of epic battles and legendary storytelling," the account stated. "Happy Anniversary, Gundam Wing."

Then, on April 17, Overwatch 2 shared a Season 16 roadmap featuring the collaboration. And on April 23, the account teased an upcoming gameplay trailer for the collaboration.

Speaking of the trailer, players can take a look at it below. The premiere of it is on April 28 at 9 a.m P.T, which is the same as 12 p.m. ET. The teaser image for the trailer appears to show the aforementioned Wing Mercy skin.

In terms of what else is happening in Overwatch 2 Season 16, players can look forward to updates to Stadium and Freja joining the game mode. Meanwhile, the DokiWatch skins are still up for grabs via the in-game shop and in the Season 16 Battle Pass. The game also has new Iridescent Aspects to collect, hero bans in Competitive Play, and an upcoming Overwatch Classic event.
