Players will be able to earn any single mythic skin ever released when they progress through the premium Battle Pass.
An Overwatch 2 Battle Pass redesign is in the works. This redesign will allow players to earn previously-released mythic skins. Read on for details!
Overwatch 2 Battle Pass mythic skins
According to Overwatch 2 general manager Walter Kong, the game's Battle Pass redesign will let players earn mythic skins from any season. For example, if a player didn't get the mythic Genji skin from Overwatch 2 Season 1, they will be able to add it to their collection in the future.
"An initiative we're working on for next year is a redesign of the Battle Pass, and we're deep in the process of working through this, which means we aren't ready yet to go through the details. But I want to give you a small glimpse of what we're thinking," Kong said on the BlizzCon 2023 stage.
He also went into how the Battle Pass redesign will make progression more exciting and give players more agency in terms of mythic skin rewards.
"Players progressing through the premium Battle Pass today are able to unlock the latest mythic skin each season. But what if you don't play the hero with that mythic skin? It's going to make the Battle Pass a little less exciting to you," Kong continued. "In a different case, you missed the chance to get Cyber Demon Genji because you weren't around to play that first season."
To address both of these scenarios, Kong said that in the future, Overwatch 2 will give players the option to earn any single mythic skin when they progress through the premium Battle Pass.
