The Overwatch 2 x Avatar: The Last Airbender event has returned! This means players can enter the game and duke it out for some in-game rewards. Read on for all of the Overwatch 2 Avatar event challenges, rewards, and details on how to unlock the Katara Mei skin for free.
Overwatch 2 Avatar event 2025
This Overwatch 2 Avatar event runs from Dec. 16 to Dec. 30, giving players a couple of weeks to complete limited-time challenges for free rewards such as Season 20 Battle Pass XP, voice lines, weapon charms, an adorable souvenir, plus a name card and player title. Players can also obtain the Katara Mei skin and Waterbending emote.
Overwatch 2 Avatar challenges and rewards: Free Katara Mei skin
Here are all of the Overwatch 2 Avatar event challenges and rewards. In addition to the free Katara Mei skin, which requires completing seven of these challenges, other items to note include the Cabbage Merchant player title, Cabbage weapon charm, and Cabbagemari souvenir. All of these items reference a character named Cai in Avatar: The Last Airbender. In the show he's a cabbage merchant from the Earth Kingdom. If you like have a favorite nation, then there are some weapon charms to collect as well. Don't forget to collect the voice lines for Zenyatta, Kiriko, Mei, and Venture, either.

While the Katara Mei skin is free and can be unlocked by completing seven event challenges in total, the rest of the Overwatch 2 Avatar skins require visiting the in-game shop and purchasing them. You can add all of them in your collection via the Avatar: The Last Airbender Mega Bundle of 32 items.
Or, if you have a favorite character, then you can get one of the bundles instead. There's also the option to unlock each legendary skin individually for 1,900 Overwatch Coins each via the hero gallery. Note that since Suki Kiriko is an epic skin, it costs 1,000 Overwatch Coins instead.
